Our Story

In 1990, Jon Lawson started Ontario Wire & Cable with goals to change the meaning of service in the wire and cable industry. Now, over 30 years later, the Lawson name runs through the company with plans to grow and continue to build meaningful customer relationships. Ontario Wire & Cable is more than an established business, it’s an extension of the Lawson family.

Jon Lawson

President, CEO

Jon Lawson is the current President and CEO of Ontario Wire & Cable. Jon started Ontario Wire & Cable in 1990 and has proudly been the President ever since. Jon is passionate about providing excellent service for his customers and taking their experience above and beyond expectations.

Jon was born and raised in Mississauga, ON and currently resides in the Blue Mountains, ON. As a young adult Jon played three seasons in the OHL for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Sudbury Wolves. He also played for the Orillia Travelways where he became a Centennial Cup champion.

In his spare time, you can find Jon golfing, snowmobiling or relaxing on a beach.

Jonathan Lawson

Director of Sales

Jonathan Lawson is the current Director of Sales at Ontario Wire & Cable. Jonathan joined Ontario Wire & Cable full time in 2021, however he has been a part of the company since 2014. Jonathan's goal is to maintain the great customer relationships that have formed over the last 30 years. He is extremely passionate about the company and can see an amazing future for Ontario Wire & Cable.

Jonathan studied at Fanshawe College where he achieved a diploma in Business Administration. Jonathan focused on business ownership and entrepreneurship during his studies. Jonathan also attended The Hill Academy where he played U16 and U18 prep hockey.

In his spare time, you can find Jonathan golfing, at the gym or snowboarding.
